The Way Of The World
The idea behind the series
A personal series created for an exhibition in Batroun, Lebanon. Confronting dehumanised violence, clouds become symbols of the drones they conceal: a threat from the sky that enters everyday life.
The title echoes the play The Way of the World. I draw on its portrayal of human relationships reduced to contractual transactions to question a more radical deterioration: when another person comes to be seen as a problem to eliminate. The images give form to that unseen danger. I wish I Had A Funnel imagines the opposite: a dream of making it disappear.
